YOUR PROGRAM EXPERIENCE

Ludwig van Beethoven - Symphony No. 5 in C minor

The Experience: intense, dark, breathtaking

You may recognize Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 from its iconic "da-da-da-dum" motif at the beginning, which symbolizes fate knocking at the door. It is Beethoven's most popular work, and famous journalist E.T.A. Hoffmann described it as "one of the most important works of all time." With four movements full of energy and emotion, it's a thrilling musical journey that will leave a lasting impact on listeners.

Camille Saint-Saëns - Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor

The Experience: lively, passionate, charming

Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1 was written in 1872, a few years after France’s defeat in the Franco-Prussian War. This piece was composed to honor his country and present a new form of French art. It is a heartfelt conversation between the cello and the orchestra, with soaring melodies and lush harmonies.

Gabriela Ortiz - Antrópolis

The Experience: dramatic, innovative, intricate

Antrópolis is a vibrant and dynamic contemporary piece that blends traditional Latin American rhythms and melodies with modern orchestration techniques. The piece transports listeners to the sound of Mexico City through its dance halls and nightclubs.
